Back Porch Revival
While no strangers to backyard house parties in Vermont, a fortune teller in Jackson Square insists her cards place them as the house band at Mahogany Hall in the heyday of Storyville in a previous life. When asked to confirm or deny this, they simply responded, “swing it, brother, swing!”
Back Porch Revival is Mike Santosusso (Hot Pickin' Party, Smokin' Grass) on bass, Rob Church (Maple Street Six, Bad Accent) on banjo, and led by Jon McBride on saxophone. The core trio can easily grow to six or seven pieces with additional string players, horn players, drums, and featured vocalists.

Jon cut his teeth in cruise ship bands before moving to California to play and record with the popular contemporary swing band, the Sugar Daddy Swing Kings. His lifelong love of New Orleans music and culture led to a decade of touring and recording as a founding member of The Gumbo Brothers and the Mudbug Brass Band. While living in Los Angeles, he played clubs and festivals up and down the west coast, including the Elbo Room, Boom Boom Room, Cafe Du Noord, Brown Derby, House of Blues, The Lighthouse, Crystal Bay Casino, Moe’s Alley, Belly Up Tavern, Live Oak Music Festival, Elysium Festival, Santa Monica Pier Concerts, and the Hollywood & Highland Summer Concert Series.
Back Porch Revival brings a seasoned and fiery edge to a repertoire of American roots music including traditional jazz, ragtime, hot jazz, acoustic blues, gospel, and early 20th-century songs from the great American songbook.
